At present, China Merchants Group’s companies have basically finished the development of cruise terminals in some coastal cities in China, like Shenzhen, Xiamen, Tianjin, Shanghai, Qingdao and Zhanjiang, in the form of sole proprietorship, equity participation or joint development. The cruise terminals in these ports mentioned above received 4.381 million passengers in 2017, accounting for 88.4 % of the total passengers received in China.


Shekou Cruise Homeport (Xunlong Shipping Service Company), a subsidiary of CMSK, not only operates the port, but also provides waterway passenger transport services in Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macau, striving to provide brand new cruise tourism services for tourists around the world as well as comfortable and convenient transport services for passengers travelling between Hong Kong, Hong Kong Airport, Macau and Zhuhai. While actively developing the “Watching Shenzhen on the Sea” program, a luxury cruise tourism program in Shenzhen, Shekou Cruise Homeport also aims to develop aquatic tourism business in the Pearl River Delta and other regions in Asia. It is a key waterway passenger transport company at the Qianhai-Shekou Free Trade Zone, among the zones of the China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone, as well as an excellent demonstration enterprise of “Safe Transport” announced by the Ministry of Transport.

Tianjin International Cruise Homeport

The Tianjin International Cruise Homeport relies on Beijing and Tianjin with north China and the Northwest hinterland at the back. It has abundant tourism resources, especially world-class historical and cultural heritage in Beijing, such as the Great Wall and the Forbidden City. The highway and railway traffic network connects northwest China, northeast China, north China and east China, and gathers 5 state-level transport corridors. The Beijing-Tianjin-Tanggu Expressway and other highways are connected to the national highway network, and provide high-speed transportation channels connected to external highways. The Port of Tianjin has trade with over 500 ports in more than 110 countries and regions. It has over 400 sailings every month leaving for ports around the world.

Tianjin International Cruise Homeport has a total planned area of 1.2 million m2, and a planned shoreline of 1,600 meters. The region is supported by policies for international cruise port and the Dongjiang Free Trade Port Zone, and has two functions: serving cruises as well as tourists. It has projects such as recreation and entertainment, commerce and trade, theme travel and boutique shopping, and is a recreational business district (RBD) featured by recreational cruising as well as shipping services and aiming at becoming a free trade zone.

Shenzhen Shekou Cruise Homeport

The Prince Homeport project includes two parts, the Prince Bay Cruise Homeport and the Shekou Cruise Center. It’s reclamation area is 37.75 hectares. It has one 220,000-GT cruise berth, one 100,000-GT cruise berth, and one 20,000-GT berth for passenger & freight roll-on-roll-off ship. It has built a passenger terminal with three jetties of 124 meters and ten 800-GT berths for high-speed passenger ships, four among which are for domestic lines, six are for Hong Kong-Macau line, and two others in northeast of the harbor basin have not been fixed for any line at present.

The Shekou Cruise Center integrates harbor services, and transportation business.. It occupies about 42,600 m2, and the building area is about 136,000 m2, with two floors underground, one interlayer and ten floors above the ground. Under the third floor is for custom clearance, port joint inspection, parking and public transport, while its above is for dining, business and office work.

The Shenzhen Shekou Prince Bay International Cruise Homeport develops from the initial Version 2.0 which values port-city interaction. It gives full play to the overall edge of China Merchants Group’s business sectors of finance, real estate, logistics, maritime work and trade, and takes advantage of favorable policies for the Qianhai Shekou FTZ and the China Cruise Tourism Development Pilot Zone to develop cruise product marketing, cruise supply, cruise ship building and repairing and tax exemption in the Prince Bay Cruise Homeport.
